Caring for your Wooden Wick Candle

Juni’s wood wick candles are a wonderful way to fill your home with genuine fragrance and the soothing sound of a crackling fire.

Because they are so unique, they may act differently than other candles, and require basic care.

What to expect & simple tips to make sure you get the best burn every time

  1. Light the wick on one side, allowing the flame to flow naturally across.

  2. Candles have a memory, so it’s important to allow the candle to burn until the wax is melted to all edges of the container. This can take about 30 mins. It helps to make sure the candle does not tunnel or leave unused wax on the sides.

  3. For best results:
    • Place the candle on a flat, heat resistant surface.
    • Burn for 3-4 hours per use.
    • Never move or handle the candle while it is burning, or while the wax is hot. This is very unsafe.

  4. Removing or pouring wax from the vessel may cause it to burn improperly in the future.

  5. The flame height may vary at times and may even appear to self extinguish, but that’s okay. Even if you are experiencing a low flame, it will continue to fragrance your room. Simply ensure there are no drafts and allow the candle to continue burning and the flame height will return.

  6. You won’t usually need to trim the wooden wick. Only trim if the wick is greater than 1/4 inch, the flame height is greater than 1 1/2 inches, or the candle begins to smoke. If any of these occur, carefully extinguish the candle. Allow the wick and wax to cool and trim the wick to 1/4 inch by gently breaking off the burned edges with your fingertips. Remove and discard wick trimmings before relighting.

Safety Info

For your safety, remember to:

  • Keep any burning candle within sight and away from children, pets, or flammable objects.
  • Extinguish the candle when 1/4 inch of wax remains.
  • Keep the candle away from things that cause drafts.
